A Brief History

University College London (UCL) was founded in 1826, undeer the name London University, as a secular alternative to the University of Oxford and Cambridge. UCL was the first university to be established in London, and the first entirely secular university to admit students regardless of cultural background. In 1900 when the University of London was reconstituted as a federal university, UCL became one of the founding colleges and later rechartered as an independent college.

Economics

This programme combines a rigorous foundation in economic theories and quantitative tools with opportunities to consider real-world problems using evidenced-based economic analysis. You’ll be taught by experts who combine their research experience with an innovative curriculum and teaching methods, preparing you to research and solve problems independently through an economics-lens in the future.

Law LLB

This three-year programme combines theory and research with practical application and skills-based training. Students may also have the opportunity, after year two, to extend their studies by a year and spend part of their degree studying abroad in the USA, Australia, Hong Kong or Singapore. No previous knowledge of law is assumed or required.

Architecture

The Bartlett UCL is consistently ranked the highest in Europe and the UK and among the highest in the world for the "Architecture and the Built-Environment" category in all major rankings. Architecture BSc offers students a wide and diverse range of experiences so that they can develop an independent, creative, experimental and rigorous approach to design. Students are guided towards discovering their own architectural vision within a vibrant and exciting culture.

Medicine

This six-year programme includes an integrated BSc, leading to the awards of Bachelor of Science (BSc) and Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). The curriculum is centred on key health problems, clinical presentations and patient pathways. You will have clinical contact throughout, with patients and doctors.

Psychology

This three-year programme, accredited by the British Psychological Society, exposes you to a very wide coverage of the field of psychology. It includes the opportunity for a measure of specialisation within your studies, so you can make informed and rational decisions about your future career.

Pharmacy

The UCL School of Pharmacy is one of the most highly rated pharmacy schools in the UK. As the oldest School, founded by the Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain in 1842, it has over 179 years of experience and tradition throughout which it has retained its identity as a specialist institution dedicated to teaching and research in pharmacy and the pharmaceutical sciences. The UCL School of Pharmacy is currently rated 7th in the world by QS Rankings.
