A Brief History

Founded in 1960 as a result of the merging of several technical colleges, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Thonburi was established to meet the growing demand for technical education and skilled professionals in Thailand. Named in honor of King Mongkut (Rama IV), a monarch celebrated for his contributions to science and technology, the university has steadily evolved over the years.
