About Chulalongkorn University

Chulalongkorn University was ranked Thailand’s top university and 43rd in Asia by the QS Asia University Rankings 2021.Its main mission is to be the center for academic learning and professional excellence. Through the pursuit, development, dissemination and application of knowledge, Chulalongkorn University works to educate students with professional know-how and research skills, as well as preserve the arts, culture, and values.

A Brief History

Founded in March 1917, Chulalongkorn University is Thailand’s first institution of higher learning. From 1930s to 1950s, the university focused on the improvement of undergraduate education. Later, the university established the Graduate School followed by numerous research centers and institutes.Over the century, the university has continuously worked for excellence in education and research.

General Information

Chulalongkorn University is structured into 21 academic units, with 20 international programs, ranging from science, business, to arts & humanities field. The school also provide exchange student program in cooperation with partner universities from around the world.

COURSES

Six popular courses

ISE (Engineering)

International School of Engineering Chulalongkorn University provides 4 academic branches: Automotive Design and Manufacturing Engineering (ADME), Aero Space Engineering (AERO), Information and Communication Engineering (ICE), Nano Engineering (NANO), and Robotics AI. All ISE students are also encouraged to participate in the Student Exchange Program in foreign countries and at universities that best meet their long-term professional interests.

EBA (Economics)

EBA is Thailand’s leading and most cutting-edge program in the field of economics. The curriculum combines a strong grounding in economic theory and quantitative methods with practical applications of economic principles to today’s problems. Every course is up to date and relevant. The program’s teaching methods consist of formal lectures, discussion classes and small seminars, allowing for close attention to each student.

BALAC (Language and Culture)

BALAC is Chulalongkorn University’s flagship global liberal arts program and Thailand’s first cultural studies program. BALAC has focused on teaching Cultural Studies in English along with foreign language competence. The curriculum has expanded , putting stronger focus on practical education, offering students with learning opportunities to get an edge in today’s global workplace. Students have a wider range of courses to take, including independent study courses. Upper level students can also do an internship and focus on a capstone Senior Project.

BBA (Business Administration)

BBA International Program continuously strives to maintain its internationally recognized reputation among business community. The curricula provide students with extensive knowledge of international accounting practices, understanding of trade development and the diversity of culture, financial analysis for modern and competitive business management, as well as brand and marketing management in the current face-paced business environment.



JIPP (Psychology)

The Joint International Psychology Program (JIPP), offered by Chulalongkorn University in conjunction with the University of Queensland (UQ, Australia), is an innovative four-year program in Psychology. Students will learn the general approaches to psychology in their first two years. In the third and fourth year, students will develop deeper into the field of behavioral neuroscience at the University of Queensland

INDA (Architecture)

This four-years architectural program has a core curriculum providing essential instruction in design and communication, history and theory, and architectural construction and environmental technology courses. Although architecture is its principal topic of study, INDA aims to show how architecture connects to other disciplines, such as landscape architecture and urban design.
