A Brief History

General Information

Princeton provides undergraduate and graduate instruction in the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, and engineering. Engineering

Princeton engineering pursues fundamental knowledge as well as multidisciplinary collaborations that make technology effective in solving complex societal problems. The school is committed to preparing all students to become leaders in a technology-driven society.

Sociology

Princeton University has one of the best sociology departments in the world's ranking, supporting about 70 majors. Students are required to take introduction to sociology, sociological theory, and statistics, and deepen their methodological training in computational social science, ethnography, statistics, and a variety of qualitative methods.

Chemistry

The Department of Chemistry offers undergraduates a flexible program suitable for attending graduate or medical school, as well as for those intending to pursue a career in secondary school teaching.

Business & Economics

The Economics Department at Princeton University prepares undergraduate students to excel in some of the most competitive technical job markets. Economic swill complete the 3 core economics courses and 5 other departmental elective courses. All Economics majors will also work with faculty advisors to work on two, year-long research projects: Through these projects, students are able to research topics they’re passionate about.

Computer Science

Beyond a small core set of courses in Computer Science, students are free to design their own program within a framework that insures in-depth exposure to algorithms and theoretical computer science, computer system design, and applications. Each student does at least one design or research project advised by a member of the faculty.

Physics

Princeton University is ranked as No. 3 in Physics Department. This is a place where you students can take General Relativity from professors who write papers on the subject, and spend part of a summer in the hands-on electronics course, taught by professors who have worked on some of the most sophisticated experiments in the world.
